In this video by John Lovell from the Warrior Poet Society, John discusses SEEING is far more important than shooting. You have to identify the threat before you know to engage one.  And what about the great killer on a battlefield? Isn’t it the round you didn’t see coming?  How are we to know where to be moment to moment?  It’s by knowing where the threats are and understanding how to use superior angles in real-time. This is the essence of tactics.  Furthermore, we must understand how to scan for threats after an engagement.  We call this part of your ‘post-shoot protocol’. First, deal with your known threats and then scan for potential threats.  If this is not encapsulated into a system, you are likely not going to do the thorough scan the battlefield really requires.
